Air Conditioning Services in Fort Lauderdale

In Fort Lauderdale, your AC does more than cool the house. It pulls moisture out of the air nearly year-round, protecting floors, cabinetry, and furnishings from humidity damage. We repair all major brands, install high-efficiency replacements sized to your home, and keep systems tuned for peak summer. Learn more on our air conditioning services page.

Heating Services in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale winters are mild, but cold fronts still drop overnight temperatures into the 40s and 50s a few times each season. Most local homes rely on heat pumps or electric heat strips. Because that equipment sits idle for months, problems tend to surface on the first cold night. We repair, replace, and maintain heating systems so yours is ready. Visit our heating services page for details.

Signs You Need HVAC Service in Fort Lauderdale

  • Your AC runs all day, but your home never feels cool or dry.
  • Outdoor unit cabinets or coil fins look rusted, pitted, or flaking.
  • Water is dripping from the air handler or the ceiling near your AC closet.
  • The system clicks, hums, or buzzes without starting up.
  • Rooms feel damp, windows fog up, or you notice a musty smell.
  • Your system is more than 10 to 12 years old and needs repairs more often.

Why Routine AC Service Pays Off in Fort Lauderdale

In a city where air conditioning drives most of your electric bill, efficiency is money. A properly tuned system cools with less energy and pulls more humidity out of the air, which helps prevent mold and moisture damage. It also adds years to equipment that’s expensive to replace.

Plumbing Services in Fort Lauderdale

Many of Fort Lauderdale’s most desirable neighborhoods were built in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, and a lot of that original plumbing is still in service. Our licensed plumbers handle leak detection, slab leaks, repiping, fixture installation, and emergency repairs for homes and businesses across the city. Big job or small, we find the problem and fix it right. Learn more on our plumbing services page. Our Fort Lauderdale plumbing services include:

  • Sewer odors in your yard or bathroom, especially after heavy rain.
  • Multiple drains backing up at the same time.
  • Warm spots on your floor or the sound of running water when fixtures are off.
  • Rusty or discolored water coming from the tap.
  • A water bill that’s higher than usual with no explanation.
  • A water heater that leaks, makes noise, or runs out of hot water quickly.
  • Your structure: Leaks left alone lead to water damage and mold, both of which spread fast in South Florida humidity.
  • Your home’s value: Buyers and insurers look closely at aging plumbing.
  • Your budget: Replacing failing pipes before they collapse avoids much larger repairs later.

Fort Lauderdale’s sandy soil and high water table, plus king tides that push water into low-lying streets and yards, put steady pressure on aging sewer laterals and drain lines. Cast iron drains in older homes crack and scale over time, and roots from mature landscaping work their way into weak joints. Heavy rains can overwhelm the system entirely, especially near the water.

Water Heater Services in Fort Lauderdale

Sediment builds up inside tank water heaters over time, cutting efficiency and shortening their life. Many Fort Lauderdale homes are running tanks past the typical 8-to-12-year mark. Our plumbers repair, maintain, and replace tank and tankless units, and we’ll help you decide whether tankless makes sense for your household. See our water heater services page.

Drain and Sewer Services in Fort Lauderdale

A slow kitchen drain and a main sewer line backing up into the yard start the same way for us: a camera inspection to see what’s inside the line, whether that’s roots, grease, scale, or a cracked pipe. Then we clear, repair, or replace it based on what we find. Learn more on our drains and sewers page.

Electrical Services in Fort Lauderdale

Spectrum AC’s licensed electricians handle repairs, panel upgrades, lighting, EV charger installations, surge protection, and whole-home generators. As an official Generac dealer, we install and service Generac standby generators that keep your home powered through hurricanes and outages. We work on homes and businesses throughout Fort Lauderdale. Our electricians put safety and reliability first. Visit our electrical services page for a full overview. Our Fort Lauderdale electrical services include:

  • Breakers that trip often or a panel that feels warm to the touch.
  • Flickering or dimming lights when large appliances turn on.
  • Burning smells, scorch marks, or buzzing sounds from outlets or switches.
  • Outlets that are loose, warm, or don’t work.
  • An older panel, such as a Federal Pacific or Zinsco, that’s known for safety problems.
  • No backup power plan for hurricane season.

For most Fort Lauderdale homeowners, yes. A Generac standby generator switches on automatically within seconds of an outage and keeps your AC, refrigerator, lights, and medical equipment running. There are no gas cans or extension cords, and your home stays protected from heat and humidity during the long outages that can follow a major hurricane.

Coastal living is hard on electrical systems. The most common culprits we see:

  • Salt air corroding exterior connections, outdoor panels, and meter boxes on waterfront properties
  • Summer lightning storms sending surges through appliances and HVAC equipment
  • Older panels and wiring that weren’t built for EV chargers, pool equipment, or larger AC systems

JD was wonderful! Although there was a hiccup in getting the right equipment, JD and his helper were able to put up scaffolding and install a ceiling fan 30 feet high, in under two hours. He did an amazing job. I would use Spectrum again in the future, and would most definitely recommend and hire JD again.
